Caffeine and Cantilevers

A little rain, some wind, and a crisp cold; it was turning out to be a great day for cross, and then the sun came out, warmed up everyone and ruined the day.  But I suppose the Crosstastic Provincials turned out alright.  Nice course, well organized, good turnout.  Since I have no clue who finished where, and since it doesn’t really matter, I’ll just let the photos and semi-witty commentary speak for itself.

Switchback, double run ups, classic Whittier park race.

Johnny G. looks downright happy about the heckling.  Viewer Note:  This image has been edited to make it appear that Johnny G. was actually running up the run up.  He wasn’t.

The World’s Skinniest Strongman is alive at Crosstastic.

The #2 Open Race Provincial Champion.  (ie, second place of the ‘we’ll take anybody’ category)

The Impaler puts on his pretty face for the camera.

Jolly Green…so damn tall he can suitcase the bike up the run ups and still have a Crickets worth of clearance.

The Hipster looks tired.

Johnny G’s better side / merino ass koozie

Cricket and Dan.  It was a tight race, but an hour later, it was a little stretched out.

Props to the great condiment choice.  And props to the Brauts on the BBQ.

Jolly Green took the brunt of the heckling today.  Good choice on the single speed.

Some fancy new skinsuits and some fancy new sponsors and some fancy new bikes on the cross scene these days.

A couple more photos here if you’re so inclined.
