Most Epic Video About Coffee on the Internet

There are some fine folks in Germany that a have fine website dedicated to fine coffee; they are Coffee Circle.  And consequently they also churn out some really great videos about coffee.  Like this, obviously the most epic video about coffee to date.

Oddly enough, Coffee Circle is also the producer the video which I believe formerly held the title of the best video about coffee on the internet.

Now, I need to thank Dear Coffee, I Love You for bringing my attention to both of these videos.  It’s a blog I visit quite often and find some really interesting stuff on.  But somehow, in the past few months I completely missed their post on one really killer infographic from the folks at Pop Chart Lab.

Never again should you have to wonder what goes with what when you can simply access this informative chart, which lays out the majority of coffee combinations.  Or at least the ones that really matter. You can find a full scale, zoomable version here.

And in local coffee news,  I’ve recently been enjoying a Koke, Yirga Cheffe, ECX from Phil & Sebastian, via Parlour Coffee.

Really been enjoying this roast and experimenting a little with Aeropress recipes.  Here’s one I’ve found to produce good results.  Or at least good enough for 5:45 in the morning, which is when I make my first cup of coffee while getting ready to head to school.

19grams coffee.

205 degree water

Ground a little finer than Chemex, roughly around the V60 mark on this image

Non-Inverted Method

Add 60ml of water.  Swirly Stir.

Add remaining 180ml. Place plunger on top.

Wait 1:40.

Remove plunger, swirly stir.  5 time seems enough.

Plunge for :25.

Enjoy.

Try it out, or suggest a different variation if you have one.  If I had any reasonable cupping skills, I’d give you tasting notes and all that, but I don’t, so you’ll just have to trust me that it’s a great roast.
